You can simplify it with <pre class='brush: javascript'>data.pop() </pre> instead of getting array index in return statement

Yeah, but it's better to keep in mind, that the method "pop" change the array itself. And if the array would be passed not directly into the function, but as a variable, the variable would be changed in the main code too (because an array transfers by reference). And if you want to work with that array further, it might raise an error.
